Abstract

Maria Yasinta Bahagia, 2024 This research aims to determine whether the used of the Double Brain Power Method can improve reading skills or not. The improvement of students' abilities using the Double Brain Power Method on students of class XI at SMA Cendrawasih Makassar. The researcher used Double Brain Power as the research method. This method shows a significant improvement in students' reading comprehension from Treatment 1 to Treatment 4. Pre-tests and post-tests were conducted as part of a pre-experimental approach using a pretest-posttest design, which the researcher used to gather data from 12 students of class XI at SMA Cendrawasih Makassar who were selected as the research sample. Total sampling was the method used to obtain the sample. The research results show that the pre-test scores of the class XI students at SMA Cendrawasih Makassar were reasonable. After the treatment, there was a significant improvement in reading comprehension. The data analysis results indicate a significant difference in students' reading comprehension, with the post test scores higher than the pre-test scores (79.97>54.4) and the t-test results surpassing the t-table (9.445>2.201). Based on the findings of this investigation, the conclusion is that the implementation of the Double Brain Power method can improve students' reading abilities
