The Use of Generative Learning Model to Improve Student Skill in Writing Recount Text at the Eleventh Grade of SMA Cendrawasih Makassar

This research aimed to know the effect of students’ writing skill by using Generative Learning Model. This researcher used a pre-experimental method with one group pre-test and post-test design. The population was the eleventh-grade students of SMA Cendrawasih Makassar, and the sample was 12 students. The sampling technique used was saturation sampling technique. The data analysis showed that there was a significant difference in students’ writing achievement, where the mean score in the post-test was higher than in the pre-test (81799> 53.106). The result of the t-test value was higher than the t-table value (15.124> 2.201). It can be concluded that the Generative Learning Model can affect students’ skills in writing, especially recount text at the eleventh grade of SMA Cendrawasih Makassar.
