Abstract

This research was aimed to find out how students’ perception on Experience Task and Independent Task in reading comprehension at STKIP YPUP Makassar. This study applied a qualitative method. The population of this study was students in the fourth semester of STKIP YPUP in 2023/2024 academic year. The sample of this research were 24 respondents selected by purposive sampling technique. The instrument and processing used was a questionnaire consisting of 10 items and 5 interviews. The data processing technique used a Likert scale with five options: strongly agree, agree, unsure, disagree, and strongly disagree. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that students had positive perception about Experience Task and Independent Task on reading comprehension. Respondents' assessments come from their learning experiences. However, learning to read through Experience Task and Independent Task provided many benefits for the fourth semester students at STKIP YPUP Makassar.
