Improving Students' Speaking Skill Through Adjacency Pairs Strategy At The Second Grade Of SMA YP PGRI 1 Makassar

Abstract

This research aims to determine whether the use of adjacency pairs strategy improves the performance of students on second grated SMA YP PGRI 1 Makassar. The strategy used in this researcher was pre experimental. The researcher’s participants are 30 students from second grated of SMA YP PGRI 1 Makassar. Based on observations collected on January 22 2024, the investigators identified 30 students from second grade of SMA YP PGRI 1 Makassar. This research tool makes used of dialogue text and smartphone camera. The research found significances in students rations between pre-test and post-test, with post-test ration being higher than the pre-test (85,3>48.1) and the T-Test ration being higher than the T-Table ration (50.216>2.045). Based on the results of the data analysis, it can be concluded that the use of the Adjacency Pairs strategy is quite beneficial in terms of improving students performance.
