The Use Of FABLE Improving Reading Comprehension at The First Semester Students of English Education Program at STKIP YPUP Makassar

In connection with the problem formulation above, the aim of this research is to find out whether fables have an influence on students' reading comprehension. The researcher used one type of instrument, namely fable. The test form is multiple choice. Where, this test was used to determine students' ability to understand reading and narrative texts before and after being given treatment through students' reading comprehension through fable. Data collection was carried out through potential statistical pre-test and post-test analysis through steps. Results from students The average score during the pre-test was 75.6, lower than the average post-test score, namely 85.9, as evidenced by the t-test value. higher than t table (3.198>2.262). researcher using fables to sharpen students' reading skills.

The Influence of English Pop Song on Listening Skill Among Tenth Grade High School Students

This study explores the influence of English pop songs on the listening skills of tenth-grade students at SMA YP PGRI 2 Makassar, using a quantitative descriptive method, it identifies factors like motivation, vocabulary, rhythm, and intonation. Data were collected through a questionnaire and a gap-fill lyric listening test. Findings show that English pop songs enhance students' interest and engagement in learning. The learning process becomes more enjoyable and effective with music integration. Average test scores indicate a fairly good level of listening comprehension. Challenges included mishearing caused by fast tempo, unclear articulation, and phonetic similarity. Despite this, English pop songs proved valuable in developing listening skills. Proper teaching strategies are needed to maximize their effectiveness. This study offers insights for using music in English language teaching to improve the listening skill of students.

Using Semantic Mapping Strategy in Students' Vocabulary Mastery at The Seventh Grade of SMP YP PGRI 4 Makassar

This study aimed to determine whether the semantic mapping strategy can improve the mastery of understanding of seventh grade students of SMP YP PGRI 4 Makassar. This study was conducted using a pre-experimental method. The population was students of SMP YP PGRI 4 Makassar. The sample of this study was 20 students, using a total sampling technique. The research instrument was a pre-test and post-test in the form of multiple choice with a total of 20 questions, while in the treatment the researcher used a semantic mapping strategy. The results of data analysis showed that there was a significant difference in students' vocabulary mastery before and after implementing the semantic mapping strategy, where the post-test score was higher than the average pre-test score (80 > 50) and the t-test result score was higher than the t-table (6.807> 2.093). Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the semantic mapping strategy improves the understanding of seventh grade students of SMP YP PGRI 4 Makassar.
