The researcher used one type of instrument, namely fable. The test form is multiple choice. Where, this test was used to determine students' ability to understand reading and narrative texts before and after being given treatment through students' reading comprehension through fable. Data collection was carried out through potential statistical pre-test and post-test analysis through steps. Data were collected through a questionnaire and a gap-fill lyric listening test. Findings show that English pop songs enhance students' interest and engagement in learning. The learning process becomes more enjoyable and effective with music integration. Average test scores indicate a fairly good level of listening comprehension. Challenges included mishearing caused by fast tempo, unclear articulation, and phonetic similarity. Despite this, English pop songs proved valuable in developing listening skills. Proper teaching strategies are needed to maximize their effectiveness. This study was conducted using a pre-experimental method. The population was students of SMP YP PGRI 4 Makassar. The sample of this study was 20 students, using a total sampling technique. The research instrument was a pre-test and post-test in the form of multiple choice with a total of 20 questions, while in the treatment the researcher used a semantic mapping strategy. The results of data analysis showed that there was a significant difference in students' vocabulary mastery before and after implementing the semantic mapping strategy, where the post-test score was higher than the average pre-test score (80 &gt; 50) and the t-test result score was higher than the t-table (6.807&gt; 2.093).
